“Dilla Did, Dilla Inspired” – A Klowd9 Ode to Jay Dilla [Audio]
Artwork conceived and rendered by Detroit artist Sintex, and designed and sculpted by Seoul-based toy artist, P2PL.
Combining tracks both produced and influenced by the late Jay Dilla, Brooklyn-based DJ, Klowd9 (aka Cochrane Williams) pays homage to the creative force that Dilla was with Dilla Did, Dilla Inspired. The mix highlights the influence Dilla has had on a generation of music lovers, music makers, artists, and academics alike. His insurmountable short and impressive life (he died at the age of 32 after losing his battle with lupus in 2006), left a lasting impression in hip hop and will be treasured for many generations to come.
