The “Memory of…(US)” Is Poignant in De La Soul’s Visual Featuring Pete Rock & Estelle [Video]

From their crowdfunded …And the Anonymous Nobody, that debuted as Number 1 rap album on release, and has been nominated for a Grammy in the Best Rap Album category, legendary rap group, De La Soul give us a visual treatment for “Memory of…(US).” Featuring Golden Hip Hop Era producer Pete Rock and British singer, Estelle, who prepares for her nuptials, while reminiscing about her past loves, played by Posdnuos and Dove. Pete Rock introduces us to Nobody Theater while relaxing back in a one-seater, wearing a smoking jacket, stating that the song and video show the blurred lines between, “Memory and reality, regret and redemption, Plug 1 and Plug 2.” It’s knowing your next life chapter is about to begin, while saying farewell to the past. The groom is played by Stephen Hill known for his appearances in Boardwalk Empire, Christmas Wedding Baby, and most recently, Luke Cage.  Check it out below.
