Simon Stone, co-founding member of alternative hip hop group Heavy Mojo is no stranger to music and doing things his way. As a solo artist we have seen Stone release two solo projects, The Divine Comedy and Age OF Chaos where he fuses the boom bap drums with airy synths, and gritty street rhythms over hard rhymes. He published Violynn: A Collection of Poetry, Prose, and Song, a collection of poems in preparation for when the perfect love finds him, or he finds her. Now with the second installment from his Trypnosis volume, Simon Stone’s choice in soundscapes are emotive, erring to the sides of funk, downtempo, hip hop with an R&B edge. He was inspired by Shade Cobain, whose beat constructs are based upon a philosophy, creating a theory in sound. “Trypnosis is kinda inspired from a stand point of more love melodies and what not,” says Stone of Trypnosis.
