BARTHOLOMEW – Jesse Boykins III

After being off the grid for two years, alternative soul singer, Jesse Boykins III returns with a new album BARTHOLOMEW and it’s heavenly. At the young age of 16, he was selected to record with the Grammy Jazz Ensemble, which was the launching pad for his singing career — it lead him to move to New York to attend The New School University straight out of high school. Over the past nine years, he has been fortunate to have Bilal as one of his mentors, helping him to define his uniqueness, perfect his five-octave vocal rage, and develop as a songwriter. This all lead to working with the likes of The Foreign Exchange, Theophilus London, Vic Mensa to name a few, and growing a dedicated global fan base. Now on his sixth release, BARTHOLOMEW is a labour of love. Renting a studio house in Los Angeles and inviting guests over, what was born is an album that in part exemplifies Boykins‘s style, while his collaborators bring their colours to his sound. Guest appearances are with Melanie Fiona, Trinidad James, Willow Smith, Syd Tha Kyd (from The Internet). J*Davey, Donny Trumpet, and many more. Check it out below!
