Philip Owusu – “Goodnight” (Audio)

There is something incredibly dreamy about “Goodnight” given the fact that I heard it first before going to bed; the title could not have been more apropos. Danish singer and songwriter Philip Owusu made his debut with musical partner Robin Hannibal (Quadron) back in 2006 on an album entitled Living with Owusu & Hannibal, an album that was the launchpad for Hannibal to release other projects with Boom Clap Bachelors, Quadron, and Rhye. Unfortunately Owusu experienced the loss of his voice, which kept him off the radar for best part of a decade. “Goodnight” is the first single from his solo album SUBS, an album that will certainly give Owusu his own prints in the sand. Sophisticated soul with live instrumentation, making the whole composition flow with the ease of breathing…simply gorgeous. SUBS is going to be a wonderful ride. In the meantime, whet your ears with “Goodnight” below.
