UK singer-songwriter and guitarist Paul Dixon started his music career using the name David’s Lyre but now is using Fyfe for his latest EP Solace. Not sure what it means, but quite frankly, it doesn’t matter — his sound is that good! The Guardian featured him in their ‘New Band of The Day’ section back in 2010 on the strength of his cover of a song by Ellie Goulding. By 2011, he released the In Arms EP and then his debut album Picture of Our Youth in February 2012. Stoically singing about waiting tables in “St. Tropez,” it comes as a surprise when heavy driving percussions and horns erupt onto the song. The arrangement is very Bjork, Radiohead, even stretching to the sound of The Klaxons. Solace is set to release April 13. Check out “St. Tropez” below. At the mere age of twenty-23, Fyfe is about to claim his position in the music industry.
