Cody ChestnuTT – “Landing On A Hundred” (Audio)

After a ten year hiatus, Cody ChestnuTT is back with a spanking new album Landing On A Hundred, a labour of love which came to fruition after his Kickstarter campaign to support it.

Landing On A Hundred is rebirth of some sort, a la Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On?, where he questions his world, his failures, loves, addictions, family and quest for change. Far from preachy, Landing On A Hundred is a redemptive narrative of the singer’s life that is quite revealing, unabashed and obviously therapeutic in its creation. ChestnuTT‘s silky vocals contain that old blues soul which make the album so pleasurable to the ears. In eMusic‘s recent interview Chestnutt, he gives a glimpse into what he has been up for the past decade. The album was recorded at Royal Studios in Memphis, a studio famous for being staples for legendary soul artist. Al Greene recorded “Let’s Stay Together” and “Love and Happiness.” ChestnuTT channeled their energy and gave us his soul.

Landing On A Hundred released on One Little Indian Records is available wherever music is sold.  iTunes | eMusic | Amazon
