Ramble John Krohn, known as RJD2, is one of those producers where putting him in a box would be a disservice as he has tackled so many styles, and performed them well. Starting his career in 1998 as the DJ and producer for Columbus, Ohio rap group MHz, he moved on to produce the debut single “Holier than Thou” for Copywrite in 2000, and by 2002 he established himself as a solo artist, releasing an album every year — a total of eleven albums. Now based in Philadelphia, RJD2 has announced he will be releasing his new album Dame Fortune, March 25th as the follow up to his 2013 album More Is Than Isn’t.
Dame of Fortune uses a host of collaborators, such as Phonte Coleman (Little Brother and The Foreign Exchange), Blueprint, Son Little, Josh Krajcik, and Jordan Brown. “Peace of What” is the first single, featuring Jordan Brown on vocals and elements of Main Source‘s “Peace Is Not the Word to Play.”
RJD2 starts his US tour this week, kicking it off with two dates at New York’s Brooklyn Bowl.
