Radiohead – TKOL RMX 1234567 (Audio)

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

TKOL RMX 1234567 is definitely an illustration of what Radiohead is listening to outside of their creations—Thom’s deeply seated obsession with dubstep and their love affair with the interchangeability of  electronica—a remix album of The King of Limbs, seems a welcomed project for any Radiohead-er. The producers selected for TKOL RMX 1234567 bring something fresh to the project. Featuring some of my favourite dubstep/electronic producers, Mark Pritchard and the newcomer SBTRKT (pronounced-Subtract), make for good listening. Check it out below. TKOL RMX 1234567 released in the UK yesterday, and in the US today and is available for purchase wherever music is sold. iTunes | Amazon

Radiohead – “Staircase” (Live From the Basement Video)

Tuesday, July 19th, 2011

Radiohead on From the Basement
A group that eats together, stays together — and it is clear that Radiohead are eating together, and their food is music. This live performance is perfect; to the point of not even sounding like a live performance but one that is orchestrated on a CD after months and months of practice, tweaking, and labour. Flawless.

The live footage below was recently filmed for a BBC special called From the Basement by producer Nigel Godrich, which originally started out as a podcast and was later to turned into a television series of in-studio performances featuring artists such as The White Stripes, Beck, and Gnarls Barkley, to name a few. Radiohead perform “Staircase,” doubling up on the rhythm with Portishead drummer Clive Deamer.

This second video is their last full performance on From the Basement in 2008, where they performed their entire In Rainbows album in-studio in 2008. It’s pretty incredible. Enjoy!

Radiohead Releases Video for “Lotus Flower” From New Album “The King of Limbs” (Video)

Friday, February 18th, 2011

With Radiohead opening the flood gates a day early to purchase their new album, The King of Limbs, which they’re calling “the world’s first newspaper album” is a major treat! Packed with two clear 10″ vinyl records, a CD of the album, large sheets of artwork, and 625 tiny pieces of artwork, for under $50. A bargain really. For those strapped for cash, there’s a digital only format available for download from their website also. As an even bigger treat, the first single off the album “Lotus Flower” saw the release of its music video. Featuring Thom Yorke dancing before the camera; he is a certified Rock Star! So energetic. I didn’t know he had it in him to be such an expressive dancer! Check out the video below, which was directed by Garth Jennings (The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy), and choreography by Wayne McGregor (I would have LOVED to have been a fly on the wall for rehearsal!) – clearly Wayne McGregor is transformative! He made Thom Yorke, the King of Limbs!

I will be sinking my teeth into the new album… more to come on that! To purchase The King of Limbs, go to http://www.thekingoflimbs.com to purchase whichever format fits your budget.
