D’Angelo Unmastered Leak of “1000 Deaths” (Download)

Hearing this made my night, especially after the disappointing tail-end of Taylor Swift’s snag of the “Album of the Year” Grammy Award. In my 2009 year-end wrap up of music, I listed some of the most anticipated albums to come in 2010, one of which included the comeback of D’Angelo. Below is the un-mastered leak of “1000 Deaths” which is a mass of funk, dirt, and psychedelic awesomeness! Even with the rough vocals, it’s a winner! Collaborators for the album include Prince, ?uestlove, and Raphael Saadiq. No details on the masters behind the production of “1000 Deaths,” but it smells like Prince with the dirty bass and guitar riffs. Check it out below and let me know what you think!

Oh yeah the track is hot!!!!! Hmmm…sounds like Prince's old style, but he's definitely not doing stuff like this any more. His stuff is really clean sounding funk these days. I think this is our gen musicians Raphael, and Quest. These guys seemed to all of a sudden covered the market on guitar pedals. A lot of the music from this posse has been heavy on the effects, and distortions. i.e Erykah's last album New Amerykah, and Common's Electric Circus. It makes me wonder are they doing what they did with Voodoo, just a bunch of jamming, with cutting and editing at the end to make an album.
Intriguing…I want more. Love the sound, love the raw passion that flows through. I always thought that Prince's influence in D'Angelo's sound was apparent as it is here, love it.
Give me more, I've been waiting and wanting for too long!
