Tingsek Releases His Sixth Studio Album Amygdala To Much Acclaim [Audio]

Swedish soul singer, Tingsek releases his sixth studio album Amygdala to much acclaim. The multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer is another great talent to hail from Scandinavian shores. No stranger to music, the artist was signed to Universal Music Group in 2005 and released three stellar albums before starting his own label World of It’s Own Recordings. His label’s first release was Restless Soul (2009), that features collaborations with Toronto-based musician Slakah the Beatchild. Over the past five years, he has collaborated with Seattle-based singer Allen Stone, where he co-wrote and produced the singer’s latest album Radius (2015). He occasionally plays with Swedish reggae band, Helt Off and guest appears at live Timbuktu shows.

Now with his sixth release, Amygdala, is Tingsek’s most personal composition to date where worked closely with his frequent music collaborator Måns Mernsten. The amygdala is the section of the brain that processes memory and feeling and Tingsek’s approach is one of nostalgia and retrospection while exploring new ways to express himself through his music. You’ll hear funkier and harder riffs, with vocals that capture the energy of Maxwell, Michael McDonald, the simplicity of a Dwele melody, with the words to touch your soul.
