“Mo’ Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove” by Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson (Giveaway)

Mo’ Meta Blues: The World According to Questlove is a journey through the life and eyes of virtuoso drummer, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, the Philadelphian musician, co-founder of the legendary Roots crew, who are defined as ‘the last hip hop band on earth.’ He is the Late Night with Jimmy Fallon bandleader, DJ, composer, and has grown to be a ubiquitous cultural tastemaker. What sets Mo’ Meta Blues apart from past memoirs is its dialogue through memory and the idea of a post-modern black man saddled with some post-modern blues. Questlove‘s musical memories transport you back to your youth (if you’re Gen X’er) to relive your soundtrack, and to also be introduced to classics and rare sounds of the 70s and 80s with anecdotal stories to boot. Music lovers will relish in Questlove‘s insights on hip hop history, the music industry, and his lessons learned (triumphant and devastating),  gaining an understanding of this talented musician who often sits voiceless behind the Roots‘ yet speaks loudly through rhythms.
