Electric Wire Hustle’s Myele Manzanza is “On the Move” feat. Rachel Fraser (Video)

One the Move” is definitely apropos to Myele Manzanza‘s life. After serving as the drummer of the seriously dope New Zealand based group Electric Wire Hustle for the past 6 years, Manzanza is now at the juncture to branch out as a solo artist. This is sad news as his contribution to EWH was a distinct part of their unique in sound. Let’s hope the split is simply a hiatus, rather than a point of no return.

One the Move” is his debut single featuring Auckland-based soul singer Rachel Fraser in a bass/drum driven groove.  The video, directed by Michael Hobbs of I Had Hippy Parents has each musician performing with their eyes close, which could be symbolic of intuition, moving from within, without distraction. A very nice visual piece. Check it out below. Manzanza‘s solo album One is scheduled to release in September of this year on BBE (UK).
